Dentures

Removable partial dentures

A removable partial denture is a removable appliance that anchors to existing teeth for retention and replaces missing teeth in either the upper or lower arch. These are most often used when there are many teeth missing in an arch or when there are no back anchor teeth to attach a fixed bridge. It is one of the most economical ways to replace missing teeth since the cost is about the same whether replacing one or several teeth. The downside to partial dentures include the fact they are not permanently attached, are more bulky, trap food, and do not chew as efficiently as fixed bridgework.

Complete Dentures

A complete denture is used when all the teeth are missing in a dental arch. Although they can be made to look very natural, they are typically totally supported by the gums and bone and rely on a suction and close fit for retention.  Our doctors have been trained to not only achieve the best fit, considering the condition of the gums, but also to give you the most natural and life-like result possible. Replacing an old, worn existing denture with a new one can take years off of your appearance.  If appropriate, dental implants can be used in combination with snaps inside the dentures to ensure much better retention.
