Snore Appliances

Snore/OSA AppliancesSnoring can be very disruptive, depriving you or your loved one of a good night’s rest. It is typically the result when your upper airway is constricted during nighttime breathing.  In many cases, a custom made appliance, or snoreguard, can be worn which helps open the airway during sleep, allowing for less obstruction and more air to pass.  This will result in a more silent, restful night.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is similar, but potentially more serious condition.  OSA is the most common type of sleep apnea, and is caused by the obstruction of the upper airway accompanied with pauses in breathing (apneas) while asleep. Without diagnosis, individuals suffering from OSA rarely are aware of its presence, and may unknowingly suffer from its effects, which include daytime fatigue, low blood oxygen levels and sleepiness. Our doctors can discuss with you the symptoms you may be experiencing and determine if you may benefit from an appliance.  Similar to a snoreguard, a custom made appliance may be may be worn to help open your airway, allowing for better oxygenation while you sleep.
